This class is performance-based and includes precision dancing. We will incorporate kick line, pom-pom, military, hoopla, flag and cheer.

There is an equipment rental fee due of $15.00. We will be purchasing uniforms this year. The cost of uniforms will be announced later. Both fees will be due at registration.

This Class will run from August until May with a Gymnasium Show in May.

At The Dance Konnection, we are thrilled to introduce the DKsparkle Performance Team, a vibrant community performance group designed for dancers eager to showcase their passion and talent. This team offers a fantastic opportunity for dancers of all ages to engage more deeply with their love for dance while making meaningful connections within the community.

Description goes This is an accelerated learning program, open to all dancers serious about dance education. If your dancer is enrolled in 4 or more dance classes at the studio, you are automatically in Prodigy.

Example: You are taking Jazz, Tap, Pilates and Pointe. This makes you part of the program. All dance classes at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA School of Dance are included (except Competition Team and KK Dancers). You must be on the roster!

If you are enrolled in Ballet  and Pointe, then both classes count toward the four necessary classes to make you a Prodigy.

The program entitles you to discounted rates for workshops and events held at the YMCA-YWCA School of Dance. There will be free extra class offerings only open to Prodigy Students along with discounted or free dancewear or items. Field trips to see dance shows or ballets may also be planned. The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling.

Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program.

Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!

Our DK Leadership Class is more than just a dance program; it is a journey towards becoming a well-rounded individual with strong values and a positive attitude. We believe in leading from the bottom to the top, and our leaders are trained to be supportive, kind, and motivational influences on their peers. This class is ideal for students who aim to foster personal growth and make lasting connections, serving as role models at the studio and in every aspect of their lives.

A Chance to Dance is a rhythm and dance program designed for those with individual learning differ- ences and other special needs. This clinically based hip hop dance program utilizes sensory processing, kinesiology, and behavioral analysis as a foundation to build customizable classes. A Chance to Dance focuses on skill development, self empowerment and celebrating our differences.
